Item description

Grammar skills are important and should be taught and reinforced… however, traditional lessons and activities can be such a bore for students (and teachers)! Get your students up and moving around the classroom while they reinforce valuable grammar skills with this fun and simple Write the Room Activity for adjectives that tell size and shape!

This Resource Includes:

  • 18 Numbered Cards that address the grammar skill without sacrificing fun! You can use as a Write the Room Activity, Scoot Game, or center activity! I’ve included a color and a black and white version you can print on colored paper to save ink!
  • 2 Different Recording Sheets that are simple to understand and use. Use one or both to differentiate! Your students can record their answers on these sheets. This gives your students accountability for their learning and helps you see which students are “getting it” and which need more support.
  • An Answer Key you can use to check your students’ work or give to them to check their own work!

This Resource is for teachers who want to include a brief and intentional grammar activity in their school day.

Why Use Write the Room Activities for Grammar?

Grammar lessons are included in my district’s reading program- but the activities are dull and teacher driven. I wanted to create versatile activities for my students that would hit upon the skill I was trying to teach without sacrificing a ton of time during our busy day. I also wanted a predictable activity that my students would be able to complete independently without interrupting me while I worked with other students.

Write the Room activities are always a hit with my students. They are so easy to prep and kids LOVE the opportunity to go “hunting” around the room for the cards. Write the Room activities are an easy way to “hack” those more boring (but necessary) objectives.

My students look forward to Write the Room activities every week. Yours will, too!
