Get an entire set of printable AND Digital alphabet readers that will help your students learn their letters, their letter sounds, and many beginning sight words as well!  These little alphabet books are designed to be interactive, and your students will write their own endings for each book.

There are 31 alphabet books in all. 21 for the consonants, and 2 for each of the vowels (one for the long and one for the short sound of each vowel.) These books are black and white so the kids can color them, and the last page of each book is designed so that your students can write/illustrate their own page for the letter sound. Authoring the last page of each book creates ownership and they will read them over and over again!

Use these alphabet readers in a reading or writing workshop, for buddy reading, during small group lessons, assign them in Google Classroom, keep copies in their reading baskets, or even send them home to read with adults. 

There is a rhythm to these books. For example: The H book (which is free in this preview) starts with H, H, /h/, /h/, /h/  Hammer, hammer, hammer. The student would read the letter twice, say the sound 3 times, and then the word 3 times. Then the next page includes the word in a sentence. Great practice for letter sounds AND sight word reading!
