This hands on math craftivity combines art and math and allows students to practice addition, adding to a sum of ten or counting. This is a great activity to leave for a sub or to work on around Valentine’s Day. It also pairs nicely with the book The Day it Rained Hearts.

The first option allows students to practice adding. Students will complete an addition sentence based on the amount of hearts they place under the cloud.

The second option has students practicing adding to a sum of ten by coloring the hearts pink and red and then completing an addition sentence.

A third option is the students can add any number of hearts under their cloud after cutting them out and gluing them. They then count the number of hearts and write the number to complete the sentence.

This activity is great for a bulletin board or wall display.
