This resource was created for teachers who are helping their students learn about the key features of animals. As they work through this scaffold, your students will think about the appearance of the animal, the habitant in which it lives, the food in which it consumes and the body parts that it has. It also gives them the chance to list three interesting facts that they came across while researching the animal. It is designed for students in elementary school. 

How can I use this resource with my students?

This resource requires minimal preparation on your part. Simply print the scaffold and distribute as needed.

Why was this resource created?

This resource was created for teachers who are helping their students learn about the key features of animals. As they work through this scaffold, your students will be required to list seven interesting facts that they uncovered about their focus animal. It is designed for students in elementary school. It can be used as a great introductory activity or as a consolidation task. 

How can I use this resource with my students?

This is a low prep activity; simply print the worksheet and have your students construct the mini booklet. If you have not created a mini booklet before, please have a look at this short clip by Simple Arts and Crafts.

Why was this resource created?

This resource is for teachers who are helping their students recognise the common features of animals such as head, legs and wings. It can also be used by students who are learning how to describe the use of animal body parts for particular purposes such as moving and feeding. Alternatively, it can be used by students who are investigating this animal. It is designed for students in primary school. As your students work their way through this activity, they will label the animal, state where it lives, how it eats, how it breathes and how it moves. There are also two empty pages included so that your students can ask their own questions. 

How can I use this resource with my students?

This resource requires minimal preparation on your part. Simply print the scaffold and distribute as needed. Your students will need to cut out the pages, compile them into a book, and then use a stapler or glue to attach them together. A grey space has been included on the side of each page so that students leave this area blank when creating their booklet.
