Your students will love learning about ants with green metallic
bodies and ants that have small eyes since they live in the darkness.
The aim of this project-based learning unit is to inspire students to
ask questions, study ants, and use creative thinking to explore ideas. A
perfect resource that provides your students with a chance to focus
their attention on features and strategies that ants have developed. By
applying nature’s strategies to problems new insights and ideas may
emerge. You’ll be amazed by how exploring ants can spark an interest in

Why am I qualified to write these biomimicry resources? I
was a member of BEN – Biomimicry Education Network – and a curator
of educational resources at BEN. I am the author of the book
Biomimicry with Theo & Tuva: Nature spotting inspires wild
ideas. In 2015, I completed a course in Biomimicry: A Sustainable
Design Methodology at Minneapolis College of Art and Design. I
took part in the Biomimicry Design Challenge in 2021.
