This freebie is a sample from my Diphthong Phonic Worksheet Bundle. You will find four free worksheets here. These activities are fun and easy to implement into your reading or spelling lessons. Use in Literacy centers, intervention units or for early finishers. These ready to go worksheets are a great resource for your First or Second Grade class.


Each sound includes the following activities:

  1. Complete the word by filling in the diphthong sound under the picture and rewrite the word.
  2. Match Up – cut, match and paste the picture next to the word.
  3. Dray lines to join the word and the picture, write the word next to the picture.
  4. Build the word with beginning, middle and end sounds. Fill in the sounds and rewrite the words.
  5. Look at the picture and write the word. Read the word and draw the picture.
  6. Read, trace, cover and write.
  7. Spell the words by filling in the sound boxes.
  8. Say, Tap, Map and Write the word. (Orthographic Mapping)
