These Kindergarten Christmas resources are a fun, hands-on way for your preschoolers and kindergarteners to practice identifying initial sounds. These initial sound games will provide your students with different opportunities to learn about letter sounds while consolidating their early phonics skills. The activities included are:

1. Cover It Beginning Sounds – There are beginning sounds learning mats and alphabet cards, your students will cover the picture with ornament that has the correct letter.

2. Clip It Initial Sounds – The student will identify and cover the correct initial sound with a clothes pin, counter, unifix cube, etc…

3. Puzzles – Students will build each puzzle to match the correct letter to picture.

This low-prep phonics resource can be used for literacy centers, morning tubs, early finishers, or fine motor journals.
