This assignment is a Video Reflection of Professor Dave’s “The Cell and its Regulation” presentation. The video explains the control of the Cell Cycle and Cancer Cells. The video is approximately 15 minutes long. The video is available on YouTube for free. The link is included with the download.

Several years ago, I stopped using accompanying worksheets with videos I show in class. Too many times students were more focused on answering the questions, rather than absorbing what they were watching. But I wanted them to be engaged with the video. So, I started using Video Reflections.

The Video Reflection handout has two columns on it. Students write down things they learned on the left hand side column and any questions they have on the right hand column. At the end of the video, each student has to say at lest one they learned or a question the have.
