A Word Search to help introduce vocabulary associated with the Chinese New Year. A great introduction/starter activity to the celebrations of Chinese New Year. It helps to improve proofreading skills.
There are 2 different word search puzzles – same clues, different layout.
On the printable copies, the word TANGYUAN & NIAN GAO have been highlighted in red. These could be used for questions or for a little research into what these two terms mean; this could then generate some further discussion.
Using the words listed in the puzzle you could ask learners to get into small groups to make posters – see how many of the words they can use – this could generate a competitive element between small groups.
