Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in the classroom by investigating the mysterious burrito and its secret ingredient with your 1st graders! This Google Slides™ contains 5 different math activities such as comparing numbers, place value, telling time, addition and subtraction word problems, perfect for improving their conceptual understanding of math concepts. This is also perfect for the end of the year review!

Teachers can play the slides with the whole class. Simply project it on the smartboard and kids will have lots of fun answering together and learning at the same time! This is perfect for math centers and substitute days, too!

NOTE: They will be reading 6 fun facts about burritos after each activity they complete until they discover its secret ingredient.

The activities include:

  1. Comparing numbers using the symbols >, <, and = 3 slides
  2. Identifying tens and ones = 6 slides
  3. Identifying digit’s place value = 10 slides
  4. Telling time. Matching digital clock to the analog clock = 2 slides
  5. Telling time. Writing the time below the analog clock = 8 slides
  6. Addition word problems = 5 slides
  7. Subtraction word problems = 5 slides
