CK Sound and Reading Flashcards
These ‘CK’ sound and reading flashcards are great for reading practice after the sound has been introduced. They can also be used to build confidence in sound recognition as well as part of a reading intervention strategy.
This pack is suitable for students in Kindergarten, First Grade or Second Grade. It contains basic CVCC words (such as ‘duck’), and does not contain any consonant blends or digraphs other than ‘ck’. It does include some ‘sight word’ vocabulary such as ‘the’, ‘me’, ‘of’, ‘you’ and ‘my’.
The pack contains flashcards with words ordered by single vowel sounds (for example back, sack and rack) and flashcards with words using mixed vowels (for example, duck, back and pick). So, if all vowels are known by the student, then they can use the mixed vowel flashcards. If only certain vowels are known, then the student can work through the flashcards that use the known vowel sounds.

‘CK’ sound flashcard. The flashcard has the sound and keyword picture.
‘CK’ reading flashcards. Each flashcard has the sound and keyword picture, three words, a phrase and a sentence. These can be printed and used as ‘take home’ flashcards.
Full page versions of each flashcard for use with a group or class of students.
The printable flashcards need preparation involving printing (and laminating if needed) as well as cutting out.
