Cognitive Verbs Graphic Organisers

Item description

These graphic organisers have been designed based on The Australian curriculum achievement standards and content descriptors to assist students’ success in higher order thinking tasks.

They are also suitable for classrooms not using the Australian curriculum, as they facilitate skills and processes needed to demonstrate understanding of knowledge and concepts in all classroom contexts.

The cognitive verbs included in this package are:

– Analysing/ Analyzing- A Music exemplar has been added for this graphic organiser.

– Evaluating- A Music exemplar has been added for this graphic organiser.

– Comparing- A primary Science exemplar has been added for this graphic organiser.

– Contrasting- A Music exemplar has been added for this graphic organiser.

– Predicting- A primary Science exemplar has been added for this graphic organiser.

– Classifying- A Music exemplar has been added for this graphic organiser.

– Justifying

– Summarising/ Summarizing- An English exemplar has been added for this graphic organiser.

– Inferring

Each graphic organiser includes a key question/key questions, and an organiser (American spelling for the respective resources has now been included). I will be adding more to the resource as I make them. I am also working on exemplars for these graphic organisers which will also be uploaded.
