Make learning and practicing CVC words enjoyable!
This resource includes 100 short vowel words that are sorted by their short vowel sound to focus on one vowel at a time. These are the best ones to start with when teaching your child or student to read.
Your students will like using the dry-erase markers or magnetic letters to form CVC words in this fun autonomous literacy and word work center.
Materials are organized according to each short vowel (a, e, i, o, u), with some mixed practice mats as well.
Self-check cards are included so that your students can assess their own work. If you want students to record their words, you can use the optional recording sheet.
These mats are all in full color, but they copy well in black and white using the “greyscale” option on your print menu.
Using CVC spelling frames for building words will help your student learn to identify the sounds within CVC words and learn how to spell the words.
