This essential multiplication property is introduced in third grade. It is one of several multiplication properties used to make problems easier. The Distributive Property breaks down more complex math problems by distributing factors. Every grade level will build upon this math concept that becomes necessary in Algebra.


INCLUDED GAMES

  • Connect 3 Game – Connect 3 is played much like Tic-Tac-Toe.
    • Players try to get three in a row diagonally, vertically, or horizontally by writing and solving a distributive number sentence.
    • recording sheet is provided in which the player works out the problem in each corresponding square.
    • This game provides practice with matching arrays to a distributive property sentence.
    • An answer key is provided.
  • Match Up – Match Up is played like a concentration.
    • It can be single or multiplayer.
    • All cards are set down face down.
    • Then turn over 2 at a time to match.
    • Matching cards are won.
    • The player with the most cards wins.
    • This game provides practice in solving the Distributive Property of Multiplication sentences.
    • There are 3 sets of cards to match: distributive sentences, products, and arrays.
    • Match 2 sets or all 3 at the same time!
    • An answer key is provided.
  • 3 in 1 Game Board – 3 in 1 Game Board, has 3 versions to play.
    • There are 3 sets of cards that can be used with any of the 3 game boards.
    • The first set asks the student to multiply and then add.
    • The second set requires the student to distribute a multiplication sentence.
    • The third set asks the student to find the missing factor in the distributive sentence.
    • The game board is used the same way in all 3 versions.
    • You roll the die and move on the game board if you get an answer correct.

  • Scoot! – Play Scoot with a small group or whole class.
