Earthquake Activity Worksheet and the Richter Scale

Item description

A visual assignment to offer when teaching about earthquakes and the Richter scale. The Richter scale diagram is not that hard to create even for artistically-challenged students and gives a visual representation of increasing intensity as the Richter scale value increases. A grading rubric is included to assess the diagram and a quick charades review activity is described that your students will enjoy seeing you act out!

A student activity sheet is provided for a bar graph that plots the number of earthquakes in the top ten states in the U.S. Graph paper is provided and a mapping activity also accompanies the bar graph.
