Graded Spelling Test Quiz First & Second Grade:
10 spellings, no time constraints but only 1 attempt allowed; learners have the opportunity to review their answers. The word is read out loud and then it is read again in context. They have to enter the correct spelling in the blank space within the sentence. There is a 5-second gap between spellings. Access to speakers or earphones is essential. Learners can replay the game as many times as necessary; this will provide the opportunity to practice spellings. (HTML format)
Alternatively, the teacher can read out and allow learners to write on paper; a transcript has been provided for this purpose.
Please make sure that you keep the HTML folder intact and run the index.html file from inside the folder. If you are adding to individual computers, please make sure that you add the whole file and then ask your students to open it up in the same manner as outlined above, thanks.

Boom Cards: Spelling Assessment with Audio G1-2
Why not try something different to identify & practice spellings, writing sentences, sorting words alphabetically, and unscrambling words.
In each sentence, one word is missing. The missing word will be read aloud and then read again in context. The audio files use a British voice. Learners may listen to the words as many times as they like before they answer. They will also be asked to write another sentence using the same word (this has been left as an open response which will need marking by the teacher).
Two drag & drop word scrambles have also been added for the 2 harder words (clothes & people).
Drag & drop sorting activities have been added to encourage the students to determine the correct alphabetical order, using the same set of words. These have been split over 2 slides, with 5 words on each slide.
Slides run in this order:
5 spellings & sentences (fill in the blank & open response)
1 word unscramble (drag & drop)
1 sorting activity (drag & drop)
1 word search (multiple choice)
These drag & drop activities and word searches are great for practicing motor skills, hand-eye coordination & applying problem-solving skills.
