End of Year 3rd Grade Review Packet for Summer

Looking for an end of the year activity during the school year for your math class? Would you like to give your current students practice packets for over the summer? Are you teaching summer school or tutoring during summer? This packet is perfect for students who were instructed recently on a third-grade math level and are ready to move on to fourth grade content next school year.

This packet is camp-themed and beach-themed for students excited for summer vacations. Several pages contain summertime clip art that can be colored along with math activities themed for summer. Activities include color by number, matching, cut and paste, writing equations and more. The pages are short and were created with the intention of practicing multiple skills over several days. A blank multiplication chart and blank fraction bar sheet are also included in the packet for scaffolding.

All pages contain skills relating to 3rd grade common core standards as listed below (Please note there may be multiple standards for one activity):

2 pages for students to tell time to the nearest minute.

2 pages for students to draw a scaled picture graph and a scaled bar graph to represent a data set with several categories.

2 pages for students to solve one- and two-step “how many more” and “how many less” problems using information presented in scaled bar graphs.

1 page for students to relate area to the operations of multiplication and addition.

1 page for students to solve perimeter.

1 page for students to recognize and generate simple equivalent fractions.

2 pages for students to compare fractions with >, < or = using denominators of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12

4 pages for students to fluently add and subtract within 1000 using strategies and algorithms.

2 pages for students to multiply one-digit whole numbers by multiples of 10 in the range 10-90.

6 pages for students to fluently multiply and divide within 100.

3 pages for students to use multiplication and division within 100 to solve word problems in situations involving equal groups, arrays, and measurement quantities.

3 pages for students to practice solving and making arrays for one-digit by one-digit multiplication problems.

1 page for students to sort rhombuses, rectangles, and squares as examples of quadrilaterals, and sort examples of quadrilaterals that do not belong to any of these subcategories.
