Item description

Do your ESL students struggle with the relationship between DNA and mRNA or mRNA and amino acids in protein synthesis? This activity helps students better understand the relationship of transcription and translation to the development of traits. The introduction and instructions are in both English and Spanish. Students pair DNA to mRNA and mRNA to an amino acid using a codon chart. Questions and tables are in English, and students are encouraged to write in English. Once the traits are determined, students draw and color their new “animal” using their imaginations. Three different genetic combinations are included, but the possibilities of expression are endless!

A version that can have other language translations added is also included.
