Writing is an important, yet sometimes difficult skill that every child learns. We have the opportunity to make writing a fun, hands-on, and exciting experience!
These writing craftivities encourage creativity! The use of adjectives makes each character and story unique to each child!
In this writing activity, children choose an adjective to describe the subject and design the craftivity to match! Once an adjective is chosen, the child writes it on the storyboard and looks it up in the Thesaurus. These are the wow words! They will choose a few synonyms to add to their storyboard and then choose which they prefer. This adjective will be used to describe their character and for the story title!
The subject and craft may look similar, but each one will be uniquely crafted and created by each child.
EX. The story starter is The _____________ Turkey. The craftivity is a turkey with a blank face.
Some students may want a silly adjective, some may prefer a grumpy or a scary one. There are so many adjectives to choose from!
Students can draw a scene from their story on the pages provided as well.
