Do you want to get your students excited about learning
their Fry First 100 Sight Words? These sight word racetracks will get
them motivated and racing to master their sight words so they can read them
fluently.

The racetracks in this set let students work on words 1 –
10 from Fry’s First 100 list. Allowing students to focus on mastering 10
words at a time keeps things from becoming overwhelming, especially for your
struggling readers.

This activity can be completed in about 90 seconds per
day, so it’s a quick, simple activity you can easily incorporate.

I used these in my intervention groups as an exit ticket
from the room. Students would read through their track; we would have a quick
conversation about their accuracy rate and time compared to the previous day.
Then, we have a quick celebration about their improvement before they went on
their way. The racetracks were a great way to motivate my students who were not
interested in reading. I’ve never had kids this excited to learn their sight
words!
