Groundhog shapes for preschool is a fun way to learn and practice shapes! Hide the groundhog shape cards in a sensory bin, around the learning area, or lay them out and flip them over as a matching game.

Shape formation practice

Shape-cutting practice

 

Some fun and creative ways to use the recording mats:

  • Cover with the same shape. (magnet, stickers, foam, etc.)
  • Cover with a pom-pom.
  • Make the shape with play dough or other materials.

 

Directions:

  1. Choose a Shape Hunt mat.
  2. Print shape cards cut them out, and laminate them.
  3. Set up and have fun while learning shapes!
  4. Cut out and color the groundhogs in shapes.

 

*GAME PLAY OPTION: Match the shape cards with the groundhog shape cards in a game of memory.
