This is a set of word sorting activities that help students learn to distinguish between the hard and soft C and hard and soft G sounds.

The file includes:

  • 48 word cards (12 for each sound)
  • Heading cards for each sound
  • Recording sheets

The sorting cards feature a picture with the word underneath. Students will read the words and sort them according to the sound they hear in the word. The target letter/sound is highlighted in red.

This is a great hands-on activity for word work centers, phonics instruction, or speech/language therapy.
