Item description

Looking for a way to make practicing high frequency words and sight words fun and engaging? This resource includes 165 hands-on, printable kindergarten sight word practice worksheets that are great for improving literacy skills and reading fluency skills. These no-prep high frequency word worksheets are perfect for independent work and substitute days!

Get your students to practice their sight words daily with these easy-to-use worksheets. The activities in the high frequency word worksheets are repetitive, so students will know what is expected of them. They are perfect for pre-k, kindergarten, and first grade students.

Each of the 165 high frequency word worksheets includes:

– Read the word: Students will read the sight word aloud.

– Color the word: Students will use a crayon, marker, or colored pencil to shade in the word.

– Trace the word: Students will use a writing utensil to trace the word.

– Find the word: Students will use a highlighter or marker to find the high frequency word.

– Build the word: Students will cut out the letters and glue them in the correct order to make the sight word.

Your students will love practicing high frequency words with these kindergarten sight words worksheets. They won’t even realize they are improving their handwriting and cutting skills too.

Prep is simple… Print the high frequency word worksheets and have your students get a pencil, a crayon or marker, scissors, and glue!

How I use these sight word worksheets in my classroom:

  • The first time I introduce this resource to my students, we complete the high frequency word worksheets together.
  • The next few times, we complete them in small groups. This allows students to gain independence while learning how to complete them and I get to see their progress and understanding.
  • Then, students are ready to complete them by themselves. They can then be used as independent work, substitute days, daily practice, and more. They also can be assigned to students that need additional practice. The worksheets can be used on their own or you can put them in a spiral.
