Then there is a 2-page template your students can use to organize their information. An additional page for writing a bibliography is also provided.

Then there is a chart that explains how information on PowerPoint slides can be used to write the introduction, body, and conclusion of an essay or composition. Also included are a graphic organizer your students can use when transferring information from their PowerPoint presentations to the written page and a checklist they can use after writing their first drafts. (Although PowerPoint is referenced here, the information can be applied to any similar type of presentation program.)

Background information for teachers about using these graphic organizers is provided. A list of the ELA Common Core standards addressed by this resource is included, too.

These materials were designed to help students write non-fiction research reports and can be used for other types of writing as well.  ELLs at intermediate levels of language proficiency (such as WIDA Level 3) and higher will definitely benefit from using them. Other students who need support with their writing will also find these organizers useful.
