Use these time-saving task cards to give your middle school students engaging practice with identifying introduction components like hook, “arch” (transition sentence between hook and thesis), and thesis as well as relevant and irrelevant evidence and commentary! Printable AND Digital!

Students read the two texts and then use these cards to practice with the vocabulary. You can do this in many ways in the face to face classroom, but my two favorites are playing Scoot and Scatter. (Directions for both are included).
