Interactive read alouds are a great way to teach important reading skills while having the students stay focused and involved. When teaching with this method, students will be listening, thinking, talking with a partner, writing, sharing and so much more.

Each week there will be one main standard to be focused on but other standards will also be tied in just as a brief introduction of that skill or a review. Teachers will have access to daily scripted lesson plans. Each book is meant to be covered in 5 days.

Using these interactive read aloud lesson plans:

1. Day 1 is a full read through with little interruptions. An essential question is presented that will be discussed later in the week.
2. Day 2 is meant for the 1st half of the book. On this day teachers really dig into the text and have students responding to questions either out loud, with a partner, in a journal all while the class creates an anchor chart.
3. Day 3 the second half of the book and follows the same format as day 3.
4. Days 4 and 5 are a culminating activity that is meant to have students show that they have mastered the standard.
5. Day 5 has a fun craft for students to complete.
