Orton Gillingham Irregular Vowels Activities – This Irregular Vowels packet features engaging resources to help your students learn all about words with irregular vowel teams. The “Irregular Vowels” do not follow the typical vowel patterns. (OU, IE, UE, EW, O, and U – /ou/ as in soup, /ie/ as in shield, /ue/ as in fuel, /ew/ as in jewel, and /o/ as in mother and /u/ as in ) With these unusual vowel activities, they will be given the opportunity to identify and spell irregular vowel words with many different learning experiences which will help them master this skill. There are vowel posters, lesson guides, independent work, and fluency practice to help your students master the concept of the irregular vowel sounds. These activity pages are designed with the dyslexia font to support students with dyslexia (and all students). These materials work well with the Orton Gillingham approach, but can be used with any reading program.
