FOUR WEEKLY THEMES:

☀ WEEK ONE: SNOWMEN AND SNOWFLAKES

Day 1: Frosty Friends Day

Day 2: Letter M

Day 3: Let It Snow

Day 4: Number 7

Day 5: The Doctor

We will start the month off exploring snow and snowflakes. The children will enjoy making an indoor snowman and have fun creating different things for the snow theme.

☀ WEEK TWO: WINTER WELCOME

Day 1: Winter Changes

Day 2: Letter N

Day 3: Winter Wear

Day 4: Black and White

Day 5: Cold as Ice

This week we will discuss the weather changes this time of year. We will introduce a weather calendar and have fun dressing up for winter. We will also spend a day exploring ice.

☀ WEEK THREE: OPPOSITES

Day 1: Opposites Attract

Day 2: Letter O

Day 3: Over and Under

Day 4: Oval Day

Day 5: Opposite Directions

Opposites week will expose the children to opposite concepts, such as in and out, up and down, and over and under. We will also have fun learning about opposite directions like left and right and forward and back.

☀ WEEK FOUR: TRANSPORTATION

Day 1: Here to There

Day 2: M, N, O and #7 Review

Day 3: Land and Sea Travel

Day 4: Air Travel

Day 5: Space Travel

This week will be an exciting week of learning about transportation. We will learn about different ways to get from here to there. We will cover land, sea, air and space travel during this week. 

JANUARY CONCEPTS TAUGHT:

• Letters M, N, O
• Number 6 & 7.
• Shape: Oval.
• Color: Black and White.
• Community Helper: The Doctor.
• Fire Drill is scheduled for week one.
• Emergency drill is scheduled for week four.

This program will assist you in implementing an early learning program covering many interests; early learning program, morning social, creative art, early mathematics, literacy language, science, music & movement, fitness, health, small and large motor skills and nutrition. All of which should be introduced and taught in the preschool years.
