Item description

The Sandpaper Numbers or Numerals are a versatile resource used with so many of the iconic Montessori sensorial and math materials. They can also be used in traditional educational settings to teach place value. Here you can print your own.

 

The numerals/number cards are 11 cm x 16 cm / 4.3″ x 6.3″. Sizes are approximate and are rounded to the nearest 1/10 cm or inch.

 

The Sandpaper Numbers are used to teach children the symbols that represent each number, allowing them to visually identify any number from 0 – 9.

 

Due to the tactile feel of the original number cards, the material also prepares children for the writing of numerals, which can be used as an extension activity for the Sandpaper Numbers. You can cut numerals out of actual sandpaper using this as a template and glue onto the cards for a truly tactile experience!

 

This material is suitable for any child – whether in a traditional Montessori environment or not.
