Your students will love digging for letters in this fun, hands-on learning activity. All materials in this packet come in color and black & white. There are 3 different style recording sheets so that you can choose the best fit for the needs of your students.

 

To create the center, simply print the letter fossils and the recording sheet of your choice. You should laminate the fossil cards for durability. Place the cards in a bin with sand. Provide students with the recording sheets and “tools” (small shovels, spoons, medium-sized paintbrushes, etc.). Let the fun begin! Students will unearth fossils and use their recording sheets to record what they found. Then they can place the fossils in a bucket or other container until the center is over. (Rebury fossils before next group.)
