Item description
Help Santa find his way home with this fun magnetism experiment! Study magnetism, the earth, and build a compass to help Santa get home safely!
Students will read about Santa needing to find his way home. Then, students will either build a compass or use a pre-made one, to find where North is.
Inside, you’ll find 4 different houses. Place the houses around your classroom, making sure to put one where North is in your classroom. Students will use their compass to find North and find out which house is Santa’s.
Students will then reflect on what they’ve learned about compasses and the Earth’s magnetic field. Additionally, you can have students use 2 different methods of finding North, then compare and contrast using the included Venn diagram.
This fun activity includes so many options for differentiation and customizing this activity to the needs of your class! It is also great for homeschooling!
