Marvelous Cornelius, by Phil Bildner, is a great read-aloud for discussing community, character traits, pride, resilience, responsibility, hope, unity, hurricanes, and more! The focus questions included in this resource lend themselves to more in-depth class/peer discussions and were designed to encourage students to use higher level thinking skills. All the questions are either higher-level or short answer.
