Multiplying doesn’t have to be hard! This packet covers math problems that relate to real-world problems and can help your students understand what it means to multiply.

 

This activity contains strategies to help your students become more familiar for when they need to multiply. The strategies and skills they will work on are word problems, arrays, representing problems with pictures and repeated addition to help students understand basic multiplication facts. Multiplication facts are with multiples 1-10. The following activities are included:

 

45 word problems that require the students to draw a picture representing the problem along with the corresponding equation

17 equations that require the student to draw an array per problem

11 arrays for the students to determine the multiplication equation

9 problems in which the students are required to provide 3 examples of ways to represent the unanswered multiplication problem. Those ways include repeated addition, drawing a picture and creating an array.
