This creative activity encourages children to create their own “chilling out” snowman by exploring self-care, coping and calming strategies to help their snowman to “chill out” during times of stress or anxiety.

What to do:

– Cut out the various Chilling Out Strategies (21 strategy cards included)

– Glue the strategies that the individual student finds helpful on the Chilling Out Snowman Template.

– Encourage students to explore what strategies work for them.

Templates are included for the more difficult emotional states to help students explore their chilling out strategies for when they feel a variety of feelings. This supports students to reflect on why they felt that way as well as what they needed to look after themselves and their emotions.

This is a great activity for the holiday break to prepare and equip students with default coping and chilling out strategies for times they many feel anxious out stressed during the holidays.
