Celebrate Native American Heritage Month by reading about these often overlooked influential Native American figures. These reading passages celebrate how the Native American heritage of these poets, astronauts, scientists and athletes shaped their journeys and ultimate success in their fields.

Students will read about 6 different Native Americans with this no-prep activity. You can either use the pdf for a print & go or you can use the enclosed link to assign the Google Slides in Google Classroom. These can be used any time of the year, but are also a great activity to honor Native American Heritage Month which occurs every November in the United States. Furthermore, it’s an engaging way to practice informative (non-fiction) reading.
