Place Value Worksheets for Spring

These place value worksheets are a fun, interactive way to review place value skills this spring! Students will use the lettered cards to identify numbers from 0-999 in written form, expanded form, and model blocks to complete the worksheets.

There are nine themes for each season. Each fun theme has its own numbers and answer keys.

PLACE VALUE CARDS: Students identify, read, and write the number represented on each card. The numbers are shown in written form, expanded form, or with modeling blocks. The number cards are labeled by letters. Each card represents a number from 1 to 999. Students can build and draw on their workspace page provided.

PLACE VALUE UNDERSTANDING: Students will use the numbers from the lettered cards to complete. They will identify how many hundreds, tens, and ones make up the number. They will demonstrate that a hundred is a bundle of ten tens, a ten is a bundle of ten ones. The numbers 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900 refer to one, two, three, etc., and 0 tens and 0 ones.

PLACE VALUE ADDITION: Students will use the data from the lettered cards to fill out the addition worksheet. Students will practice adding and subtracting within 1,000 (A few addition problems go over 1,000) using concrete models or drawings and strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction; relate the strategy to a written method. Students should understand that in adding or subtracting three-digit numbers, one adds or subtracts hundreds and hundreds, tens and tens, ones and ones; and sometimes it is necessary to compose or decompose tens or hundreds. Students should use their workspace page to solve the addition problems.

COMPARING NUMBERS: Students will use the data from the lettered cards to fill out the worksheet. Students will compare two three-digit numbers using the greater than and less than symbols > and < or equal to symbol =. Students should use their workspace page as needed.
