This Halloween science activity uses pieces of pumpkin that can biodegrade rapidly in soil that is moist and warm. Small pieces of pumpkin are exposed to different environmental conditions to determine the effect on their decomposition. The activity uses the scientific method, can run from two to three-weeks, and uses and inquiry approach. The resource provides the following:
