Word sorting is a great way to build phonemic awareness and phonics skills! This is a set of word sorts for R-controlled vowels.

 

For each illustrated card, students will say the word and determine which r-controlled vowel pair is missing. The cards can be sorted by spelling pattern and recorded on the recording sheet.
