The reflection and refraction of light produces interesting effects. Reverse writing is an optical effect caused by the bending of light (refraction). Young students can come up with some surprising explanations for this effect! The resource includes a page of small images and words that students can place behind the water. There is also a worksheet included for students to explain the reversal of the image in their own words and using a diagram.

In addition, this resources provides 12 flashcards with light vocabulary words that can be used in the study of this topic. Each flashcard includes an image related to the vocabulary word.
