Everything you need to assess, record and communicate results to parents for short vowel sounds recognition. Efficiently assess and record the sounds /a/, /e/, /i/, /o/, /u/. Communicate this information with the parents with the home letter and practice ideas.
•Assessing short vowels 1-page assessment (reading and writing)
•Letter to parents informing them on what sounds to review.
•Word family fluency lists to send home for extra practice as well as practice ideas.
- Print one copy of the short vowel assessment page for each student being tested.
- Highlight the vowel sounds they do not read correctly in the word.
- Once finished the reading assessment, give the child the highlighted copy and have them write the name of the picture in the space provided. If they do not know the image, you may tell them the word.
- Grade the assessment.
- On the parent letter, highlight the sounds the student does not know. Staple the CVC word lists to the letter and send home.
