PREPOSITION SENTENCES

These spring preposition sentence worksheets are an engaging way to help your students master their positional words using fun spring themed characters. Students practice reading prepositions in sentences and match the image to the sentence or the sentence to the image. Also included are preposition true or false statements where students read the sentence and circle if it true or false according to whether it matches the image.

Also included is a spin a preposition sentence mat in color and black and white with 2 different recording sheets.

How does it work?

• 1. Roll a noun from the table above using a dice.
• 2. Spin a preposition from the spinner using a spinner or a paperclip and pencil.
• 3. Roll another noun from the table below using a dice.
• 4. Make a sentence using the two nouns and the preposition and record it on your recording sheet.
• 5. Draw a picture to match your sentence.
  
  

The first recording sheet allows students to write the nouns and preposition then write the sentence and draw a picture to match. The second sheet allows students to write sentences using the chosen nouns and prepositions. Spin and write until they have filled the sheet.

These worksheets cover the following 15 prepositions:

• behind, over, in front, inside, on top, between, around, on, in, above, beside, next to, through, out, below and under.

BUILD A PREPOSITION SENTENCE

These spring preposition sentence worksheets are a great hands on way to help your students master their positional words using fun spring themed characters – flower, frog and bee!

Students cut out the sentence strips and paste them in order under the matching image to make a sentence. They then write out the sentence.

There are 9 worksheets covering a total of 27 different sentences.

These sentences cover 15 prepositions – above, around, in front of, out, next to, beside, on, on top of, through, between, in, inside, behind, over and under!

To help you differentiate, the 9 worksheets come in 2 versions (both versions come with and without handwriting lines!).
Version 1 – Build a sentence to match the image and then write the sentence

Version 2 – Build a sentence, write the sentence and draw an image to match.
