WHAT EXACTLY IS A POTLUCK SOUP LUNCHEON?
Any staff who wishes to participate will sign up on the sign up sheets to either supply a crockpot of soup to share and ladle to serve, accompaniments, or other ingredients that you would like to include. You will set up a lunch buffet in your common area for your staff to drop off their soups. You will warm them all morning so they are ready to go for lunchtime. (Ask your custodial staff for surge protectors to plug in lots of crockpots!) We encourage anyone who wishes to eat to participate by supplying something needed, whether they bring a pot of soup, beverages to share, crackers or breads, paper goods and utensils, or desserts. Please note that it is so important is to put out the sign up sheets for soups first, or you may have staff signing up for extras and not have enough soups. We often paid for bowls and utensils with our Sunshine Funds but you can be creative on funding. Serving as our building Sunshine Committee chairperson was truly one of the greatest honors and pleasures of my career. I truly gained more than I gave and my staff was extremely appreciative of my efforts.
