Strawberries are loaded with DNA as each cell has eight copies of their chromosomes. Because of this, they are a perfect fruit to use for a simple strawberry DNA lab. The complete procedure for the extraction is described using a visual format and there is also an activity worksheet for students. Students love this lab as they can see the raw gooey DNA!
