Practice quick mental math and number representation with this fun and engaging game. Students face off and compare numbers to 20 in this low prep activity. Differentiate by choosing only the 0-10 or 10-20 deck or combine them for a longer game.
0 – 10 deck – 28 cards
Students subitize with counting hands, dice and ten frames.
10 – 20 deck – 20 cards
Students subitize with ten frames.
The two decks can be combined to create a 0-20 deck.
Cards are also available in black and white
How to play:
- Students play in pairs. Each student has exactly half of the deck.
- Students each flip over a card at the same time.
- They subitize to determine which card has the highest total.
- The student with the card of greater value keeps both cards.
- The game ends when one student runs out of cards
- If the cards are equal, draw another card. The winner gets to keep all 4.
Printing Instructions:
– Print on cardstock
– Cut along solid black line to separate into cards
– Laminate for durability
