This Christmas scavenger hunt is a fun, low-prep activity that will give your students practice subtracting numbers within 20.

To play, print out the subtraction problem cards and place them all around the room. (I suggest putting them in spots that will be a little bit challenging to find.)

Give each student one recording sheet.

Put on some fun holiday music and send the kids on a math hunt. They will need to find each item on their list, solve the subtraction problem, and record the answer on their paper.

This can be a timed or untimed activity depending on the ability of your students and how much time you have. When finished, you can give a little treat to the student who got the most answers correct.

This is a great way to keep an academic focus during the days leading up to the holidays!
