This set of 4 worksheets provides practice identifying
subjects and predicates in simple sentences in order to understand what
makes a sentence complete.
- Worksheet 1: Students draw a line between the subject and predicate (this worksheet has an example at the top of the page);
- Worksheet 2: Students circle the subject and underline the predicate. They
also write their own predicates for given subjects;
- Worksheet 3: Students choose subjects from a Word Box to complete sentences;
- Worksheet 4: Students write “S” or “NS” in the blank to identify sentence or
“not a sentence”. They also write their own complete sentence.
Designed for Grades 1-2. These are great for either in-class work or take-home practice.
