These NO PREP PRINT & GO non standard winter measuring worksheets are a perfect way to introduce or help students practice and review measuring lengths and heights using fun winter and artic animal graphics.

Students will practice measuring penguins, snowmen, winter objects and arctic animals using any form of manipulative including snap cubes, mini erasers, paper clips, standard rulers to measure in centimeters and inches or use any of the fun thematic rulers provided in the resource.

Worksheets include:-

1 – Measure the winter animals – color in the cubes to find the height of each animal.

2 – Measure the winter objects – color in the cubes to find the height of each object.

3 – Winter measurement – color the cubes to find the width/length of each penguin and snowman.

4 – Arctic Animal Measurement – color the cubes to find the width/length of each animal.

5 – Measuring Lengths – Students measure the length of each polar animal using snap cubes or you can use the fun rules provided in the resource. Alternatively you can use any choice of manipulative to use as a measuring tool.

6 – Measuring Lengths of cube stacks – students number the boxes from 1 to 3 to order the cube stacks from longest to shortest and draw a line the length that is stated eg Draw a line that is 4 cubes long.

7 – Short and Tall – color the object that is shorter in blue and the taller object in green.

8 – Short and Tall – students are required to draw a tree or snowman that is either taller or shorter than the given objects/animals.

9 – Shortest to Tallest – students cut out the tree and penguins and order them from shortest to tallest and tallest to shortest.

10 – Measurement Comparisons – This worksheet comes in 3 versions to help you differentiate for your students :-

a) Measure and Graph – students measure the height of each snowman and graph the results.

b) Measurement Comparison – students measure the height of each snowman and answer the questions by coloring in the answer.

c) Measurement Comparison – students measure the height of each snowman and answer the questions by writing the answer.

11. Measure the Room – This exercise comes in 3 different versions to help differentiate for your students :-

a) Students find the objects given around their classroom and measure each object using your chosen measurement tool. They record their estimate and actual answers in the table.

b) Students are required to find some objects around their classroom to measure using your chosen measurement tool. They draw the object in the box and record their estimate and actual answer.

c) Students are required to find some objects around their classroom to measure using your chosen measurement tool. They fill in the answers in the given table.

12. Measure the House  This exercise comes in 3 different versions to help differentiate for your students :-

a) Students find the objects given around their home and measure each object using your chosen measurement tool. They record their estimate and actual answers in the table.

b) Students are required to find some objects around their home to measure using your chosen measurement tool. They draw the object in the box and record their estimate and actual answer.

c) Students are required to find some objects around their home to measure using your chosen measurement tool. They fill in the answers in the given table.

Fun Measuring Rulers – A page of colored and black and white measuring rules have been provided. Print as many copies as you need so that each student gets a ruler.
