This winter themed printable and digital unit includes sentence writing prompts with a winter scene that motivates students to use descriptive language as they complete worksheets and explore the structure of simple, compound and complex sentences.

Descriptive writing is a major focus, as students are asked to apply their sentence structure practice to a designated prompt, using a scaffolding graphic organizer (with suggested sentence starters). They are also asked to capture a small moment in time, as they pretended to be stranded in a blizzard. (Sample provided.)
