How to use:

I made these cute little cards for my young ones. While reading they may encounter a word that they have a particular interest in knowing. They use it in a funny sentence and of course I laugh because it doesn’t make any sense. This little notes are designed to be used while they read and they find a word which they don’t know the meaning of. You encourage the search of new words and increase their vocabulary by doing so.

There are two layouts, one is very simple to fill. The kiddo writes the word they don’t know and what they think it means. Then they get the definition for the word.

In the other layout the kiddos write the word they don’t know, what part of the word they understand, what the word actually means with space for name and date. There is a pronunciation “thermometer” where they indicate how hard it is to pronounce the word which they don’t know. This allows you to know their reading level.
