Item description

This work packet is for reviewing how a number can be written in different ways. Those different ways are in standard form, written form, expanded form, and expanded notation. These pages will provide a review (can be used in introductory lessons) for practice writing six digit numbers out. The student will write out various numbers in their expanded forms and expanded notations. They will also see how their expanded form can help them add numbers together.

Practice in:

  • examples of standard, written, expanded forms and expanded notation
  • four worksheets for written form
  • four worksheets for expanded form
  • four worksheets for expanded notation

This can be sent as a study packet to the student via distance learning as I have included a PDF fillable file in which the student types their answers and save their work and send it to you. I have also included the printable version in which you simply print and use which includes the answer keys.

Includes a BOOM deck as well which I recommend to use as a QUIZ after the student has completed the packet to reinforce the skills and see if they need additional help. The questions in the BOOM deck are different than those in the packet but target the same skills.

The BOOM deck has 30 cards which will quiz the students knowledge in:

  • writing numbers out in expanded form
  • matching a written number to its standard form
  • match numbers to their expanded notation

Your student will enjoy the BOOM cards and the practice as they continue their journey in the different ways a number can be expressed.

When you purchase this product, you will receive a PDF with a link to the digital task cards on the Boom Learning Site (an external website).

About BOOM cards:

To use Boom Cards, you must be connected to the Internet. Boom Cards play on modern browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge). Apps are available for Android, iPads, iPhones, and Kindle Fires. For security and privacy, adults must have a Boom Learning account to use and assign Boom Cards. You will be able to assign the Boom Cards you are buying with “Fast Pins,” (play provides instant feedback for self-grading Boom Cards). Fast Play is always a free way for students to engage with Boom Cards decks.

You may be eligible for a free trial from Boom Learning. If you choose not to stay on a premium account after your free trial, you will still be able to assign all your Boom Cards to as many students as you see fit using Fast Play pins (which give instant feedback for decks that are self-grading).
